What is home emergency cover?

Under this cover, we'll help arrange a reliable tradesman to sort out emergency repairs - normally the same day, and repairs are guaranteed for a minimum of 3 months.

We cover repairs up to your policy limit - we will also provide alternative accommodation and transport for up to your policy limit per incident, and you don't pay an excess. You can choose from two cover levels, Limited home emergency cover and Extra home emergency cover.

Limited home emergency includes things such as:

  • breakdown of your main heating system
  • leaking or blocked toilets
  • costs of alternative accommodation if your property can’t be lived in as a result of a claim under the policy.

Extra home emergency includes everything under Limited, plus things such as:

  • £500 towards replacing an unrepairable boiler
  • repair of broken locks on external doors and windows
  • removal of pests such as wasp nests, hornets, mice and rats from your home
  • installation of a tarpaulin to protect your home if the roof is damaged
  • breakdown of a fuse box.

Our home emergency helpline is open 24/7 every day of the year, and making a home emergency claim won't affect your No claim discount (NCD).
